The 360 | 365
New Director Series

360 | 365 presents the New Director Series featuring “GASLAND.”

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 at 6:30pm at The Little. Q&A with Josh Fox to follow.

GASLAND
100 minutes

A large domestic natural gas drilling boom has swept across the United States. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of “fracking” or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a “Saudia Arabia of natural gas” just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown.”

General admission is $12 and $8 for seniors and students. To buy tickets online, go to

About the Series

As the artistry of filmmaking continues to evolve, it is important to watch the exceptional visionaries, the pioneers who push the envelope of the expression. Sometimes that artist is quickly recognized, sometimes only after many accomplishments. The 360 | 365 George Eastman House New Director Series discovers these pioneers and brings them to you.

360 | 365 will showcase films by first and/or second time feature-length filmmakers. Be it narrative, documentary, animation, or a hybrid, we”ll examine the cutting edge of cinema by these not-yet-established filmmakers.

The screenings will be introduced by the filmmaker, with a Q&A session for audience interaction.  Be a part of the ground floor of tomorrow’s filmmaking icons!
